Sharmila Nisudan has dedicated this eBook to her late father Dr. Kasturi Sudhakar Rao.

She writes a few lines about her father and how this eBook drew inspiration from him:

My father’s innovations on functional medicine: My father used to practise both Ayurveda and Allopathic medicine; to his advantage until 1960, the Indian medical graduates were offered a medical degree called GCIM (8) where graduates learned dual systems of medicine. During my growing years I observed him prepare plenty of herbal medicines at home. He used to maintain a lot of scripts explaining various combinations and the medicinal values of several herbs derived from the bark of the trees, roots, dry fruits and flowers. I was too young then to understand the theory, but eventually as I took to culinary arts and nutrition studies, it made me realise their importance beyond the kitchen and cooking. Soon, my passion grew and I put into practice this science as I used them in home remedies to prevent small ailments like colds and coughs. I hope this eBook will be an inspiration to many to look at their kitchen as an answer to cure and relieve pain and suffering.”
