Months of being the biggest thing in the news, at the time of the writing of this eBook, the COVID-19 pandemic is still an unsurmounted concern for most people. Having emerged victorious through a strong battle with the virus and having fought many other health problems using nothing more than home remedies, we are a family that tends to prefer a healthy lifestyle, natural remedies and functional medicine over most other forms of medicine in most situations. Nonetheless, we appreciate and understand the role of science and modern medicine and do not in any way discourage the use of that where needed.

That being said, there are a whole host of solutions that nature and a good diet plan have, to offer to us. Modern science too, supports that many/most illnesses and their symptoms can be either weakened or completely treated by the use of natural remedies and here in this eBook, we share what we used, in order to manage our illness and thereafter to support recovery, strengthen healing and then increase our immune system’s resilience, which we believe should be helping us stay more protected in the future against this disease and many others.

We must share that there is no scientific evidence that our remedies are helping us stay protected from the COVID-19 disease, however what we know is that we feel healthier and it is very likely that our immune response is strengthened by the remedies, since the time that we adopted them. And, having a strong background in nutrition, diet and food, we understand that these remedies pose no significant harm and are simply daily foods that many people already consume – just not in a calculated and disciplined pattern of consumption.

In this eBook, we share all the home remedies we used and these remedies have many health benefits and medicinal uses which can help manage many medical conditions and lifestyle diseases. We try to be as elaborate and complete as we can so that the readers benefit with not only being able to manage one but many illnesses. Moreover, we share all links and information available with us, with the idea that some readers who choose to dig deeper into functional medicine and home remedies, can continue to study further using the links and finding more information that can help understand and find great alternative ways to stay healthy and treat many conditions and illnesses.

 

About the eBook

We have made efforts to make this eBook and our remedies shared here, usable by a broad set of people. The COVID-19 disease is already known to result in vastly varying symptoms and extent of impact on various individuals. In our own family with three members in the house, one had no signs of being symptomatic, one being diabetic had to experience a strong battle and the third experienced two battles in a row of which the second also featured pneumonia. In all cases, a single advice by a doctor over the phone, helped us understand how to know what “critical” would be, and the more important part of the advice was that unless critical, heading to a hospital was not ideal because in the then current situation, a hospital bed even in emergency, would’ve needed 3-6 hours of waiting in a line and deteriorating further.

That advice was received while pneumonia was going strong, causing breathing problems, but motivated care and support through strong and safe natural remedies, simply turned the battle to our favour and soon, the body’s immune system overpowered the disease with that little, calculated help.

What we know and feel proud to share is that all throughout the ordeal, our faith and belief that we can fight the disease, was strong within us. Together, we planned our day and made what can be described as a new schedule to fight this virus.

Being people with a food and nutrition background, our priority soon was to use what we had in our kitchen - “food is thy medicine” has perhaps been taken for granted, like many of us take our body for granted. What we eat, can help us manage and recover from many illnesses and conditions, and it also affects our day-to-day health; paying less attention to consuming natural, balanced and wholesome food for long periods of time is likely to lead to lowered immunity and several lifestyle diseases like hypertension, diabetes, etc.

A modern lifestyle with increased dependency on processed foods and laboratory-created chemical medicines/drugs is shown by many researches, to be an easy way to fall sick and get affected harder by any disease and the COVID-19 is no exception. A good immune system is well equipped to – in most cases – win the battle against the SARS-CoV2 that causes this disease. However the modern times tend to make us a little too dependent on pills, refined and processed food products that miss the natural fibres and wholesomeness of natural foods, and a lot of other less ideal routines and foods. This is a lifestyle that might now need a reconsideration. We do regret knowing that a lot of very knowledgeable medical practitioners and health specialists happen to overlook the importance of natural, balanced and wholesome food and this is why we felt the need to write this eBook, now.

We admire that off-late, some medical practitioners, nutritionists and local government health centres are starting to advise people to keep fit, boost immunity and keep healthy while staying at home – as the pandemic gains momentum (at the time of the writing of this eBook). However, this is only a new trend and with limited commercial agenda, the prominence it can reach is limited. As you read ahead, we share what we found to be most important for a healthy lifestyle that can help prevent and fight the COVID-19. We skip the more talked about hygiene and social distancing topics and restrict this eBook to food intake and some other remedies, with special emphasis on healing herbal remedies.
